What we make

Current paths

Terminal, flexible link and contact arm joined into one part, with the joints tested.

For breakers and contactors

Busbar assemblies

Busbars fitted with supports, studs, inserts and flexible links.

For switchgear, busduct and power distribution

Contact and spring assemblies

Contacts, carriers and springs riveted or welded together.

For relays, switches and auxiliary blocks

Over-moulded assemblies

Metal parts moulded into plastic, so they arrive located and insulated.

For terminal blocks, connectors and bobbins

Coil and magnet assemblies

Coils fitted to cores, yokes and terminals, ready to drop in.

For contactors and trip units

Earthing and wired assemblies

Earthing kits, bonding links with lugs, and parts fitted with fasteners to torque.

For panel builders and enclosure makers

Choosing a joint

Every joint is a place for a defect. Choose it for the current, the movement and the volume.

Riveted Welded Moulded

Metal to metal for the current

Riveted
No heat and low cost, for contacts, springs and carriers.Watch for: A rivet can loosen under vibration; check the clinch.
Resistance welded
Fast, with no filler metal, for copper and steel parts at volume.Watch for: Weld shear or pull is tested every batch.
Brazed
A strong, low-resistance joint, also between different metals.Watch for: Flux residue must be cleaned; ask for coverage and shear.
Ultrasonic welded
Joins braid, foil and wire to terminals without melting.Watch for: Pull test every batch, to your limit.

Plastic and metal for location and insulation

Insert and over-moulded
The metal part is moulded in, located and insulated in one step.Watch for: Contact faces must be free of flash.
Heat staked and press-fit
Inserts and pins fitted after moulding.Watch for: Pull-out force is tested to your limit.
Fastened
Screws and nuts tightened to the torque on your drawing.Watch for: Torque is set and recorded, not judged by hand.

Parts or one assembly

Buying the assembly moves the joints, and the incoming inspection, off your line.

Six parts, six suppliers

Each part is bought, inspected and stored on its own, and the joints are made on your line.

Choose it for designs still changing, or where you must make the joint yourself.

One assembly

The parts are joined and tested before dispatch, and arrive as one part with one record.

Choose it for stable designs, where every incoming line costs you time.

Incoming inspection
Six lines, or one.
Joints
Made and tested on your line, or made and tested before they reach it.
Purchase orders
One per part, or one for the assembly.

Questions buyers ask

What does it mean that the joints are ours?+

Each joint is made, tested and recorded before the assembly ships. If a joint fails, it is our failure to answer for, not a question between several suppliers.

Can you use parts we supply?+

Yes. We can fit parts you supply alongside parts we make. The inspection record shows which is which.

How are the joints tested?+

To the test on your drawing: pull or shear for welds and rivets, millivolt drop for current-carrying joints, torque for fasteners, and hi-pot where insulation is involved.

Can we start with one part and add the rest later?+

Yes. Many buyers start with one part, then move the next parts and the assembly once the first part is proven.

Can you take a small order?+

Yes. Small, engineering-heavy batches are work we take, from prototype quantities upwards.
